Rolli, Stefano - 1 Original colour drawing - Columbus Day / La scoperta dell'America - 1989

Splendid and hilarious original satirical cartoon, created in ink by Stefano Rolli, a renowned Italian caricaturist, illustrator and satirist (famous for his collaborations with major national newspapers such as Il Secolo XIX and various magazines).

The cartoon, dated and signed 1991, shows two Native American people on a tropical beach. With Rolli's characteristic biting humor, the scene plays on a funny literal double meaning: a dove (the bird) flies over the beach and soils the indigenous man’s hand, triggering the cry: "Damned Columbus!!!"

Technique: India ink on cardboard
Year: 1991
Signature: Present in the upper right
Condition: Excellent
Artwork ideal for collectors of original boards, satirical cartoons, and Italian authorial comics.
