Two antique German ceramic beer mugs from around the early 19th century: a Regensburg salt-glazed mug with a functional pewter lid, 20 cm high and 9 cm base diameter, featuring Virgin Mary and St. Peter’s Cathedral in a Gothic scene with grape vine ornament at the base, and a Schrezheim faience mug from around 1790 with a white glaze and a central bird motif surrounded by floral designs, 23 cm high, 12 cm base diameter and 1 litre capacity, both in good condition with minor signs of ageing.

This lot feature two antique ceramic german beer mugs created around early 1800s in Germany.
Regensburg Clay Mug - This saltglazed tall mug was made in a Regensburg pottery workshop around the first half of 19th century (c1840). Its main motif features Virgin Mary holding St. Peter's Cathedral, while the style is predominantly gothic. Different scenes presenting various characters are visible under gothic architectural elements, while near the base the circumference is ornated in grape vines. Its pewter lid mechanism is functional with metal parts covered in a consistent dark patina. Condition of this mug is good with no chips, only a thin hair line barely visible.
Dimensions: Height - 20cm, Base diameter - 9cm, Weight - 721g.
Schrezheim Large Faience Mug - Created most likely around the second half of 18th century (c1790) most probably in Schrezheim - Germany. The piece has its white glaze handpainted with natural theme featuring a bird for its central figure, surrounded by stylised floral motifs. Condition of the item is decent, presenting no major damages or restorations, only a few thin hairlines on its body and consistent use signs at its handle.
Dimensions: Height - 23cm, Base Diameter - 12cm, Weight - 702g, Capacity - 1 Liter.
