Description from the seller

An exceptional and highly elegant vintage mid-century table service set from the renowned French artisan atelier Les Créations Artistiques Marcy, Limoges.

This decorative butter dish (beurrier) or small appetizer/caviar dish is beautifully crafted into a stylized leaf shape using fine Limoges porcelain. It is finished in a striking, rich matte teal/emerald green glaze, heavily contrasted by a central gilded rose medallion and thick, hand-painted gold scalloped rims. The piece features a distinct, sculptural twig-style loop handle finished in bright gold gilt.

Accompanying the dish is its matching, beautifully coordinating butter/spreader knife. The blade features a polished gold finish, paired with an intricately textured, relief-molded floral and foliage handle.

The ensemble remains completely intact, presented inside its original luxury cream snakeskin-textured box. The interior is lined with a tufted, padded cream satin and features the crisp, authentic gold manufacturer stamp on the inner silk liner: "Les Créations Artistiques Marcy - LIMOGES".

A splendid vanity or fine-dining collector’s set that perfectly captures mid-20th-century French luxury.
