Description from the seller
The first image is AI-enhanced to better showcase the design against a neutral background. Please rely only on the following original photos for the item’s true condition.
Set of 4 Ancient Plates by Villeroy & Boch Wallerfangen 26cm - Blue and White Fine ’800
Era: Late 19th century / Early 20th century (datable between 1874 and 1909 thanks to the historic winged Mercury head impression on the back).
Splendid and rare set of 4 decorative antique ceramic plates in monochrome white and cobalt blue, produced by the prestigious German manufacturer Villeroy & Boch at the famous Wallerfangen facility.
The plates feature refined landscape and marine decorations in the classic Delft/Flow Blue style: two plates depict a evocative coastal scene with sailing ships, lighthouse and castle, one shows a classic Dutch windmill, and the last a riverside view with moored boats.
Details:
• Manufacturer: Villeroy & Boch (Wallerfangen, Germany)
• Diameter: 26 cm each (large size, ideal for display on wall/sideboard and for collectors).
• Original catalog codes: On the back of each plate are hand-written serial numbers under glaze by the period decorators (1512, 1514, 1533, 1538), in addition to the raw-clay marks impressed.
Conditions:
The plates are authentic antiques with over 120 years of history.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks, featuring the beautiful and natural patina of time/slight glaze crazing that attests to authenticity.
A unique opportunity for antique ceramic collectors or for those looking to furnish the home with a touch of Liberty and elegant style.
I would like to point out that the first photo of the set has been enhanced with artificial intelligence solely and exclusively to place an appropriate background, while all subsequent photos are original shots taken by me personally, faithfully reproducing the object in reality.
Shipping and Packaging:
Careful, Tracked, and Insured Shipping.
