Two vintage Brabantia kitchen stools from the 1960s, made of lacquered and chromed steel with skai vinyl upholstery, with 54 cm seating height and a 30 cm seat diameter, each weighing about 2.75 kg, one with a black frame and the other with a broken white frame, chrome footrest, in good used condition with signs of aging and light staining.
Description from the seller
Two very decorative vintage kitchen stools.
The stools date from the 1950s or 1960s.
The height is 54 cm, the width (across the legs) is 42 cm, and the seat diameter is 30 cm.
Each stool weighs almost 3 kg.
The stools are made of lacquered and chrome-plated steel.
The seat is covered with skai (a form of artificial leather, also called vinyl).
They are still very sturdy and can be used safely.
The frame of the first stool is black, the other is broken white.
Both stools have a chrome footrest at the bottom.
Although the stools are not identical, they still match well together.
The shape, by the way, is identical.
The stools show a lot of normal signs of use.
Both stools have light damage to the upholstery (see photos).
The paint on the broken white legs shows quite a bit of wear, while the black legs are still in very good lacquer.
On both stools the chrome foot rail shows some rust spots here and there (see photos).
All signs of use are the natural wear you’d expect on heavily used kitchen stools of nearly 70 years old.
These signs of use are clearly depicted in the various photos.
This kind of stool carries a rich history.
They are still 100% stable, and a functional nostalgic ornament in any kitchen, but also living room!
They can of course be used as stools (their height nearly doubles as a bar stool), but they are also very suitable as plant stands, pedestals, or even as a small side table.
The stools were made by Brabantia (see also the remnants of the label under one of the stools (photos)).
A very well-known company in the south of the Netherlands (Valkenswaard) that produced many kitchen furniture but also other household materials (and still does).
The stools are carefully packed and insured for shipment.
