18th‑century wooden wall shelf, carved and gilded, with a central paper‑decorated band painted in tempera; dimensions 33.3 x 16 x 9.4 cm; origin Italy; in good condition with minor age‑related wear.

Base or wall-mounted hanging shelf in carved wood, shaped and gilded with a central decorative band made of paper applied and painted with tempera, datable to the 18th century.
Front profile with a wavy, bombé line and moulded frames with gilded grooves at the top and base.
Shaped band covered in hand-decorated paper with a central medallion and floral motif, on a background of purple and silver stripes, with a decorated central line.
Top resting surface painted in blue of a later period; back and bottom in wood.
CONDITION: The object is in generally good condition. Wooden structure intact and solid; diffuse abrasions from contact along the gilded profiles, slight superficial losses showing wood and exposed preparation, old termite holes not active, and the top surface repainted in blue.
