Imposing polychrome porcelain statue in Capodimonte style, depicting an Arab hunter on horseback, 70 cm high, 45 cm wide, 25 cm deep, weighing 9 kg, unsigned and in discrete condition, dating to the 20th century.
Description from the seller
Rare sculpture in artistic Capodimonte-style porcelain depicting an Arab hunter on horseback returning from a hunt with conspicuous game laid across the animal's back.
This splendid work of art stands out for the complexity of its details and the chromatic richness typical of 20th-century ceramic manufacture.
Quality and conservation
The polychrome porcelain features finely hand-modeled details with gilded inserts along the trim of the destrier and the knight's traditional attire.
The overall condition is excellent and the structure retains all of its original brilliance in the pastel colors and in the natural shading of the tree trunk and the rock that form the base.
There is a small chip or missing piece on the left rear leg of the fawn prey, visible in the close-up photograph, which does not diminish in the least the very high aesthetic and collectible value of the lot.
Precise measurements recorded
• Overall height seventy centimeters
• Maximum base width thirty-six centimeters
• Maximum base depth twenty-six centimeters
An imposing and highly scenographic piece, perfect for enriching collections of European and international art porcelain or as a prestigious antique-style decorative furnishing.
