French late 19th-century rectangular casket-style wooden frame with a gilded leaf finish, external 59 x 48 cm and internal 44 x 34 cm, in good used condition with minor age-related wear.

Magnificent antique frame in a French box style, dating from the late 19th century (late 1800s).
An enchanting piece of antique furniture, ideal for enhancing important paintings, signature canvases, or period mirrors.
Type and Style: French-made box frame with a solid structure and a classical moulding featuring a flared profile.
Decorations: The corners are enhanced with refined floral and botanical relief motifs (gilded stucco), characterized by volutes and rosette details that lend elegance and movement to the overall composition. The inner edge of the lip is finished with an elegant dentil/geometric frieze carved into it.
Finish: Original period gold leaf gilding, presenting a beautiful, authentic patina of time. The surface shows slight signs of wear, small chips, and discolorations consistent with the age and history of the piece, elements that attest to its originality and enhance its antique charm.
Conditions: Structurally sound and solid.
On the back (visible in the photos) are the original angular corner reinforcements and archival-era traces. Please examine carefully all attached photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
