Stunning pair of antique gilded and chiselled bronze wall sconces, of very high decorative quality, in the Louis XV style, which I place in the middle of the 19th century, probably under Napoleon III, around 1850–1870.
Each sconce features a particularly elegant and dynamic composition with two lights, richly adorned with foliage, acanthus leaves, volutes and rocaille motifs.
The decorative elements are worked with a lot of relief and finesse, with a pleasant alternation between the gilded parts and the darker bronze patina.
