AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A very attractive share certificate of Wright Flexible Axle Motors Ltd. issued in 1929 for 4 shares.

In 1927 James A. Wright founded a car factory in Montreal, derived from the bankrupt Birmingham Automobile Factory in Peterborough, Pennsylvania. The Birmingham cars built from 1921 onward were known for their excellent off-road capabilities thanks to a flexible axle suspension. Wright acquired the patents and brought two drivable Birminghams to Montreal. The factory had a building of almost 10,000 square meters, but production had already ceased in 1929.

Bilingual English/French. Beautiful brown-and-blue steel engraving with in the four corners vignettes of a car, an airplane, a steam locomotive, and an ocean liner. At the bottom a vignette with a blacksmith and the motto “Labor omnia vincit”.
