Description
Set of four antique mahogany chairs of Danish origin, dating circa 1830 in their provenance document. The chairs feature curved gallery backs with a volute decoration, attractive mahogany grain, turned front legs, and removable seats upholstered in light fabric.
They were acquired in 1994 from British Import, an antique dealer specializing in vintage furniture. The preserved origin document describes them as “four chairs in mahogany of Danish origin, from the 19th century, circa 1830.”
Some photographs intentionally show the chairs without their seats in order to document construction, joints, and the condition of the frames. The seats are present. The four chairs are sold only as a set.
Condition
Good overall for their age. The structures appear complete and stable. There is patina, signs of use, small marks, and possible old repairs compatible with 19th-century furniture. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
