Description from the seller

Charming set of three decorative wall-mounted letter holders, perfect witnesses to the tourist development of the interwar period and the Roaring Twenties in the full Art Deco era around 1920.

They are made of celluloid and may have small mother-of-pearl inclusions. This is the case with the Lyon piece.

The large celluloid model comes from the city of Nice.
It depicts a butterfly adorned with golden filigree, framing an animated view of the Promenade des Anglais and the mythical palace of the jetty-promenade, a casino destroyed in 1944. Therefore a rare and historical object.
It has a pocket to store letters and documents with its hanging cord. (22×30 cm)

The second model is a view of Paris under glass. The ribbon-like articulated structure represents the Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre and the Trocadéro. This model has a green glittery background typical of Art Deco. (22×16 cm)

The third model is a view of Lyon, more specifically of the hill and its Basilica of Fourvière. Some mother-of-pearl inclusions are present. This model has its original silk threads to store the mail. (18×17 cm)

Set in good condition.
