Description from the seller
Antique fireplace garniture by P. Bonnet and R. Pottier – circa 1900
Beautiful old French mantel clock set in three pieces, comprising a monumental clock and its pair of matching cassolettes.
Movement bearing the signature “P. BONNET and R. POTTIER.” A Louis XVI / neoclassical style ensemble, probably made around 1900, in light-veined ornamental stone with rich bronze/gilded bronze decoration: columns, floral garlands, knots, urns and foliate ornaments.
The clock features a lovely dial with Arabic numerals decorated with rose garlands, two winding points, elaborately shaped hands and a balance wheel visible behind the glass.
Dimensions:
Clock: H. 45.5 × L. 30 × P. 15 cm
Cassolettes: H. 33 × L. 13.5 cm each approximately
The garniture is sold in its antique condition as visible in the photographs. Movement in working order.
A fine antique decorative ensemble, all the more interesting for retaining its two matching cassolettes.
