AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Spectacular fossil plant of the horsetail class. There is a spectacular branch of Spehenophyllum. The preparation of the specimen was very laborious, preserving the finest details of the plant.
Measure of Sphenophyllum: 75 x 25 mm
Sphenophyllum is a genus of herbaceous-looking horsetails. The known fossils of this genus show a plant with slender, long stems organized in nodes and internodes. The leaves of Sphenophyllum develop from the nodes in whorls and have the blade from wedge-shaped to linear with parallel venation. The reproductive structures are narrow, long strobili that arise in terminal position or from the stem nodes. Along the stem and from the nodes, adventitious roots develop. These plants probably developed a climbing or creeping habit in swampy ecosystems.
Plastic support included.
