Description from the seller

ANCIENT wooden butter churn
Charming object of rural tradition – late 19th / early 20th century
Authentic old wooden butter churn, slightly conical in shape, made of staves joined and held by sturdy metal hoops. It is equipped with its wooden lid and its long handle/piston which once enabled beating cream to make butter artisanally.
Its raw appearance and its beautiful old patina, preserved without over-cleaning, testify to its use and give it a lot of character.
A true rural heritage object, today sought after for decorating country houses, old farms, chalets or interiors in a rustic and vintage style. It can also make a very beautiful collectible piece around antique utensils related to butter making.
Era: late 19th – early 20th century, to be confirmed
Material: wood, metal hoops
Condition: beautiful antique patina, traces of use consistent with its age
Special feature: presence of the original wooden mechanism/piston.
An authentic piece, decorative and history-filled, which will immediately add character to an interior.
