Vintage original gelatin silver print, 25.4 × 20.5 cm, titled La via della Cina verso le pianure indiane, attributed to Daily Mail, dating to 1963 with a stamp-signed caption, from a 1962 Epoque London service on China’s route to the Indian plains, a portrait of an indigent Mishmi man in northern India, good condition.
Description from the seller
An interesting vintage original photograph, medium-large format, taken in 1962 by the London agency Epoque, part of a service titled 'China's route to the Indian plans', dedicated to the border areas between China and India during the Sino-Indian War of late 1962, probably a service organized by the Daily Mail. The image documents an indigent from the Mishmi tribe, a people who inhabited (and partially still inhabit to this day...) northern India, in the area then called Lohit, today Anjaw, at the time almost inaccessible to the Western press. The photograph was published in 1963 by a famous Italian magazine. Original stamps and typewritten captions on the back. Good overall condition, format 254x205 mm
