Description from the seller
Very beautiful antique silver-plated dessert spoon, complete in its original box from the luxury shop Orfèvrerie Moderne in Paris.
Carved by a French silversmith around 1900 and beautifully decorated with, among other things, rocailles (shell motifs), elegant curling lines and graceful leaves (Acanthus leaves).
On the spoon itself a detailed floral engraving, though it has some patina.
Between the handle and the start of the spoon bowl there is a slight bend, perhaps caused by use, and the usual scratches on the bowl of the spoon, which is absolutely normal and inevitable for a used object that old.
I could not detect any maker's mark on the dessert spoon, probably worn away after all this time. This gives the following options for the maker: Boulenger, Christofle or Maison Cardeilhac (neighbors of Orfèvrerie) or the shop itself, which also employed excellent silversmiths.
The spoon comes in the original box (dimensions 37x10.8x4 cm, total weight 370 grams). The latch is missing and the box is somewhat worn, but the inside has remained surprisingly beautiful.
A special and decorative luxury dessert spoon, still in very good condition, especially considering its age.
Of course your purchase will be carefully packaged securely and shipped promptly.
