Crusader denier from the County of Tripoli under Bohemond V (1233–1251), in billon, about 0.5 g and 15.7 mm, obverse with BOAMVND COMS and a cross pattée, reverse with CIVITAS TRIPOL and star motifs.

Crusader states, County of Tripoli.
Bohemond V (1233-1251 AD).
Denier (Billon, 15.7 mm, 0.5 g).
Obv: ✠ BOAMVND COMS. Cross pattée; some types one or three pellets in quarter.
Rev: ✠ CIVITΛS TRIPOL. Types with eight or six-pointed star, with annulets between rays.

The County of Tripoli was one of the principal Crusader states of the Levant. Under Bohemond V (1233–1252), it was united dynastically with the Principality of Antioch. Bohemond resided mainly at Tripoli and generally avoided the wider conflicts of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. His reign was shaped by tensions with Cilician Armenia and the military orders, while Tripoli remained an important fortified Mediterranean port.
