Description from the seller

French 19th-century bedside/commode mirror in mercury-gilt bronze, Louis XV style

Description

Magnificent French 19th-century bedside mirror, made in mercury-gilt bronze, in the Louis XV/Rocaille style.

The frame features rich ornamental decoration composed of volutes, rocaille, flowers, leaves and vegetal motifs, with abundant pierced elements. The assembly includes a rear stand-type support that allows the mirror to be kept upright on a table.

Specially notable is the glass decorated with engraved floral motifs, framed by an elaborate gilded bronze mold with vegetal decoration. At the top there is an ornamental composition with floral motifs and Rococo-inspired decorative elements.

Due to its stylistic and construction characteristics, it corresponds to French historicism of the second half of the 19th century, within the Louis XV/Rocaille taste.

Dimensions: approximately 50 × 33 × 25 cm.
Weight: approximately 3 kg.
Material: mercury-gilt bronze and decorated glass.
Era: 19th century.
Origin: France.
Condition: excellent overall condition, maintaining a notable presence and ornamental richness, with mild signs of age and use appropriate to the period.

Shipping: The piece will be carefully packaged using appropriate protective materials to ensure safe transport. Due to its nature and characteristics, it is recommended to purchase damage insurance during transport. If such insurance is not purchased, the seller is not responsible for any damage that may occur during transport. It is advisable to keep the packaging until it has been confirmed that the piece arrived correctly."
