Cue the Sun is a signed first edition photography book by Trent Parke, published by Stanley Barker in English, 116 pages, 22.2 × 29.8 cm, presented as a large double-sided leporello.
Description from the seller
The photographs were made in Northern India in early 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. Parke was travelling between Agra, Amritsar, Delhi, Dharamshala, Meerut and Mathura, photographing the world outside the windows of fast-moving cars, taxis and buses.
The images capture people, streets, vehicles, animals, architecture and fragments of everyday life at extremely high shutter speeds. Parke describes the experience as one in which the past and future seemed to collide, with beauty, chaos and hope existing simultaneously.
The book is constructed as a huge double-sided concertina/leporello, allowing the photographs to unfold continuously. The entire sequence becomes a kind of visual journey through the Indian night toward dawn.
