Description from the seller

A superb matching pair of vases from the Keller & Guérin Faience in Lunéville, Art Nouveau period, circa 1900-1905.

Rare features:
• Pair from the same batch, kept together for over 100 years
• Same model number painted under the base + recessed mark in the shape of a cross R (Cross of Lorraine)
• Deep nuanced green glaze, decoration of stylized white tulips highlighted in gold, typical of the Ernest Bussière workshop
• Two-handled in an embracing form, flared neck with gilded rim, bulging base

Precise dimensions (measured):
• Height: 29 cm
• Width across the handles: 16 cm
• Maximum diameter of the body: 16 cm
• Opening diameter / mouth: 9.5 cm
• Base diameter / foot: 8 cm

Marks: K&G Lunéville stamp + number + recessed cross-shaped mark under the base (see photos).

Condition: Very good overall. Minor wear to the gilding on the neck edge consistent with age (see photo 6), no chips, no cracks, no restoration. Glossy glaze, vivid colors.

An identical pair from the same batch is extremely rare on the market; most vases have been separated over time. Large size 29 cm.

Provenance: Private collection from the South of France.

Material: Glazed earthenware
Manufacturer: Keller & Guérin Lunéville
Period: 1900-1905 Art Nouveau
Weight: approx. 1.8 kg for the pair.
