Antique three-panel fireplace screen in Louis XV/Rococo style, circa 1900–1910, made of copper and steel, with a decorative curled copper top edge and fine metal mesh, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
French antique three-panel fireplace screen – Louis XV / Rococo style – circa 1900–1930 – with fine metal mesh
Elegant three-part antique steel fireplace screen in Louis XV / rococo style, executed with a graceful twisted copper top rail and fine metal mesh.
The screen consists of three hinged panels and features a particularly decorative design with curved lines and a refined copper braid- or cord-shaped border around the central panel and the side panels. The dark patina gives the whole an authentic and characterful appearance.
The fireplace screen was originally intended to be placed before a fireplace as protection against sparks, but today it is also highly decorative as an interior piece.
The design clearly aligns with the French Louis XV and rococo tradition and recalls fireplace screens from the early 20th century.
Dating: circa 1900–1930.
Dimensions: Height: approx. 55 cm - Total width when open: approx. 100 cm
Origin: France
Material: copper, steel
Condition: good used antique condition with normal signs of aging and patina. The metal mesh is present and intact. Light signs of aging and use appropriate to the age.
A particularly decorative and functional fireplace screen with an elegant classical look, suitable for a traditional, country, or classical interior.
Carefully packed and insured shipping.
