Description from the seller
Original vintage Japanese B2 theatrical poster for The Nanny (1965), the British psychological horror thriller directed by Seth Holt and produced by Hammer Film Productions, starring the legendary Bette Davis, alongside Jill Bennett, Pamela Franklin and William Dix.
Believed to date from the film’s original Japanese theatrical release in the 1960s.
A striking example of Japanese cinema poster art
This Japanese edition features a particularly dramatic and visually compelling composition, combining an intense close-up of Bette Davis with a sinister rope motif, distressed-style graphic elements, vivid red Japanese typography and unsettling scenes from the film.
The distinctive artwork perfectly captures the psychological tension and Gothic atmosphere associated with Hammer’s most memorable productions.
Unlike many conventional international advertising designs, this Japanese poster offers a bold visual interpretation of the film, making it especially appealing to collectors of Japanese cinema posters, classic horror and Bette Davis memorabilia.
