AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

An iconic Art Deco serving dish / bowl, dating from 1924 and produced by the famous pottery factory Petrus Regout & Co, N.V. De Sphinx from Maastricht. The designer of this beautiful geometric Amsterdam School pattern is the renowned Dutch artist Richard Roland Holst (1868–1938). The set was issued on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Nederlandsche Oliefabrieken (NOF) Calvé in Delft (1884–1924). The letters NOF and Calvé are abstractly incorporated into the scrambled-egg-yolk pattern on the front. The dish was used at the time as a salad dish. The blue stamp on the underside explicitly states the origin with the text "Aangeboden door Oliefabrieken Calvé Delft". Also the factory stamp of Petrus Regout Maastricht is printed on it. The dish also bears a blind mark. It is a beautiful piece from the heyday of the Art Deco period.

Dimensions: 32 x 23 x 4 cm (l x w x h).

The dish is in excellent condition. It has along the rim only two small (old) fleabites, see last 2 photos.

The dish will be carefully packed and insured for shipment.
