AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Studios Hergé was founded on 6 April 1950 because Hergé could no longer handle the weekly production of a page from The Adventures of Tintin on his own, especially as he kept raising the standards for the accuracy of the drawings. The studio began in 1950 in Hergé’s house on Delleurlaan in Brussels, but moved in 1953 to Louizalaan. With the move, Hergé wanted to create a clear separation between his professional life and his private life. In the studio, new Tintin adventures were created (from Flight to the Moon), old albums modernized, and advertising work and merchandising produced. The studio also contributed to several animated film projects. After Hergé’s death in 1983, Studios Hergé became the organization that manages his legacy, such as the copyrights to The Adventures of Tintin, The Goon Squad of Quick and Flupke, and Jo, Suus and Jokko. In December 1986, Hergé’s widow and sole heir, Fanny Rodwell (born Fanny Vlamynck), decided to disband the studio, and the Hergé Foundation was created.

In 1973, two small Tintin flip books (mutoscope books) appeared, where by flipping rapidly, the drawn scene moved. Two issues appeared; 1) Captain Haddock in “the Fright of His Life” 2) Jansen and Jansens – the famous detectives in “two at a stroke.”

This lot contains a fine original drawing from part 2. It was used for the small flip book part 1, published in 1973. The drawing is in pencil and then inked. A splendid drawing that is still in excellent condition. Offering this beautiful drawing (18.3 x 23 cm) provides a unique chance to acquire something beautiful from Studios Hergé.

The photos of the publication are for information only. The booklet is not included with this lot.

The beautiful drawing (a ready-to-frame top piece) will be well packed and sent by registered mail to the new owner.
