Description from the seller

A striking pair of decorative mantel ewers (aiguières) designed in the elegant Louis XVI Revival style, 20th century. Each ewer features an ovoid porcelain body glazed in a vibrant Rose Pompadour pink, richly accented with delicate gilded scrolling foliage. The central oval reserves are finely hand-painted with romantic, pastoral scenes depicting an 18th-century courtly couple walking through a landscape, bearing an artistic signature tribute ("Lebrun"). The porcelain is heavily mounted with ornate, openwork gilt-bronze/brass handles cast with scrolled foliage, fluted foliate spouts, and anchored by dramatic tripartite leaf-form bases. Held together by an internal central rod mechanism typical of period production. Excellent decorative condition with vibrant color and well-preserved gilding. Height: Approx. 45 cm.
