Lot 37 stereo photos - Richard binder and box - 1971-1972 - Bénodet, Finistère, Meschers - Plaque - Glass

Lot of 37 stereoscopic plates 4.5 x 10.7 cm — Bénodet, Finistère, Meschers & Paris (1971-1972) + Panier Taxiphote Richard + 1 storage box

Superb set of 37 original stereoscopic views on glass plates in the 4.5 x 10.7 cm format, kept in their original Jules Richard binder for the Taxiphote device and accompanied by a matching storage box. The plates bear a central handwritten period caption that is very legible, indicating the date, location, and the precise subject of the shot.

The lot is mainly devoted to seaside holidays of the summer of 1972 in southern Brittany at Bénodet (Finistère), complemented by scenes in Charente-Maritime and Paris:

— Bénodet & Southern Finistère (August 1972): La Plage du Trez, its playgrounds, its porticoes and its café terrace, the Yachting Center, the entrance to the port, the view over Sainte-Marine, the Odet and the bridge over the Odet, the motorboat L'Aigrette, the Phare du Coq, the promenade toward the Glénan Islands about 20 km off the coast, the Avenue de la Mer from the hotel window and the Letty dunes / Pointe de Saint-Gilles.

— Charente-Maritime (Meschers, August 1971): Dramatic evening storm views on the beach, the town hall clock tower and the garden, and a keepsake portrait indoors.

— Paris (July 1972): Urban view of Rue Bachelet taken from the house (18th arrondissement, Montmartre).
