Description from the seller
RICOH Auto Half E, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Ricoh Auto Half E (1966) refines the much-loved Auto Half formula: a pocketable half-frame camera with clockwork spring-wind advance that fires a run of frames without touching a lever, and a battery-free selenium meter that sets exposure for you. The E version added a self-timer and revised styling. A 36-exposure roll yields around 72 pictures, and the little Ricoh has become a design classic in its own right.
Important — please read carefully:
The meter reads about 2 to 3.6 stops over. Please take this into account before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Clear, no haze, fungus or scratches
Viewfinder: Cleaned inside
Functional
Meter, shutter and spring-motor film advance work.
Light seals replaced; viewfinder cleaned inside.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 2.0 OVER / EV15: 3.6 OVER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb — please read the Known Issues section and allow for them when shooting.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. The meter reads about 2 to 3.6 stops over (EV12 +2.0 / EV15 +3.6), so automatic exposures will come out overexposed.
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
Important Notes for Used Items
As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described.
