Description from the seller
Vase Royal Bonn "Flamand" – Fine blue and white earthenware (faïence) – Germany, circa 1900
Beautiful two-handle vase in fine glazed earthenware, with a blue and white printed decoration in the style of the "Flamand" pattern from the Royal Bonn factory (Franz Anton Mehlem, Bonn, Germany).
The baluster body is entirely covered with a dense geometric motif evoking a mosaic, punctuated by reserves with landscapes of trees and floral compositions (tulip, roses).
The neck features a characteristic copper/brown border, and the two pierced handles reproduce the same mosaic-decor.
Back of the foot marks: printed Royal Bonn mark (crown above interlaced initials "FM", inscription "1755 Bonn"), the model number impressed "2982", and workshop marks impressed.
Dating: circa 1900 (late 19th – early 20th century)
Condition: Good overall. A fine capillary crack is noted inside the neck, visible only when looking into the vase (invisible from the outside and to the touch). No impact on the strength or presentation of the vase. No other chips or cracks observed.
