Aureliano Toso Murano - Table lamp - Mask - Murano glass

Splendid and rare vintage bedside lamp model "Mascareta da Comodino", produced by the famous and historic glassworks Aureliano Toso Murano 1938. The piece perfectly expresses the sophisticated Italian postmodern language at the cusp of the late 1980s and the 1990s. The design stands out for its characteristic asymmetrical beak-shaped diffuser in precious satin-finished white opaline glass, which rests elegantly on a conical stem made of solid cherry wood and a solid circular base in acid-etched glass. The name "Mascareta" evokes the fluid silhouette of the traditional Venetian half-mask, here reinterpreted in a minimalist and geometric key.
