The larimar is a rare stone originating exclusively from the Dominican Republic, valued for its tones evoking tropical waters.

This cabochon is truly exceptional visually, well nuanced with patterns known as "turtle scales". The most sought-after patterns.

Local legends suggest it is the fruit of mermaids' tears. These tales add to its mystique and appeal.

The solid silver setting has not been traditionally set: it was melted around the stone, letting the metal flow and harden freely. It results in organic drips and a raw texture, making this mount a truly unique piece, impossible to reproduce identically.

This is called a "free" or "organic" setting, sometimes translated as "lost wax" or cire perdue.
