Description from the seller
Rare German-made Elastolin figure from the mounted knights series, in mass/composite material, with armed rider and prancing horse. On the bottom it clearly reads Elastolin – Made in Germany.
The brand is that of O. & M. Hausser, the historic German company that produced toy soldiers and figurines. Elastolin mass production is particularly interesting for collectors; the 7 cm series is well documented on the antique market. Production period
For this specific specimen, given its construction, material, coloring and especially the markings, I would tentatively place it between the late 1930s and the 1950s, with a higher probability of the 1940s/early 1950s.
I would not feel confident attributing a precise year from just the photograph: Elastolin used similar models for several years and the inscription Made in Germany appears on productions from different periods.
What piece is it
It is a 7-cm Elastolin series piece, i.e., the classic scale of about 7 cm, it is not a simple modern plastic figurine: it is an old mass-painted figure, and this increases the collecting interest.
The figure is part of a personal collection and has been kept with great care.
