Description from the seller
Saliva-sofa, 1974
The Mae West room is one of the most popular rooms at the Dalí Theatre-Museum, where one can see the three-dimensional rendering of a two-dimensional image, Mae West's face, usable as Salvador Dalí's apartment (circa 1934-35).
Height: 7 cm
Width: 10 x 16 cm
Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) The painterly art of Dalí was a sublimation of his own life. Relying on an exceptionally skilled craft accumulated through all kinds of pictorial experiments, he carried surrealism to levels that were unsuspected, inimitably. He photographed, in a way, what was happening inside his head in an associative manner. Inspired by the new revolutionary conceptions of psychology at that time, he tried to translate his subconscious into images and to visualize his dreams in all that they had of impenetrable symbolism. It is for this that he created his very famous paranoiac-critical method. For us, mortal one-dimensional beings, only paintings and other fascinating works of art still bear witness to an incredibly intense and laborious life. They may seize us as much as we do not only see them as a manifestation of Dalí's subconscious but also as the very reflection of our own.
Beautiful finish and careful details.
New product, quickly delivered in its original packaging, with Certificate of Authenticity.
