Christopher Reeve - Superman IV The Quest For Peace - (1987) Two Japanese B2 Cinema Posters — Different Designs

A complementary pair of Japanese B2 theatrical posters for Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, directed by Sidney J. Furie and starring Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman and Margot Kidder.

The lot brings together two distinct designs from the Japanese theatrical campaign:

• Illustrated design: Superman flying upwards from a nuclear missile silo, using Dan Goozée’s dramatic campaign artwork, combined with Japanese lettering and a cast portrait strip.

• Photographic design: Christopher Reeve as Superman with Mark Pillow as Nuclear Man, above a space-themed background and the Japanese title.

Both posters feature Japanese promotional banners celebrating Superman’s 50th anniversary. Together, they offer an attractive comparison of the illustrated and photographic approaches used to promote the same film in Japan.
