Description from the seller
The Technics SH-8065 graphic equalizer, launched in 1982, is an exceptional analogue product, built with superb quality and designed for careful optimization of audio systems in demanding environments.
This equalizer was the world’s first 33-band equalizer: while professional devices of the era stopped at 31 bands (from 20 Hz to 20 kHz), Technics added two more sliders to a third-octave, one at 16 Hz and one at 25 kHz, to allow sound professionals to achieve extended-band control even just beyond the limits of human hearing, thereby optimizing performance especially of audio systems with subwoofers.
The SH-8065, in addition to offering ±12 dB adjustments, allows, with a dedicated button, the limitation of intervention to ±3 dB, for more precise and delicate adjustments on otherwise linearized audio systems.
The unit presented here is the European version, therefore powered at 220V, unlike versions that come from the USA or Japan with 110V power.
This unit has always been used in a recording studio and is offered with removable wings and a plexiglass barrier that allow its arrangement in a 19” rack and protection of the controls.
It is in good cosmetic condition, with minor signs on the chassis (see photo); the equipment functions perfectly and has been carefully checked and tested in the laboratory before shipment.
Lot:
- Technics SH-8065 equalizer
- Original user manual and warranty
- (3) original parameter-detection masks
