The Onkyo HT-R538 is a 5.1-channel home cinema receiver introduced in 2010. This receiver was often sold as the heart of the HT-S5305 home cinema set. It is an entry-level A/V receiver designed to bring surround sound to your living room without an all too complicated installation.
Main Specifications
Power: 100 watts per channel at 6 Ohms (stereo and surround).
Video: Equipped with HDMI 1.4 connections (3 inputs, 1 output), providing support for 3D video and the Audio Return Channel (ARC).
Audio formats: Supports decoding of classic surround formats such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Digital Surround via digital inputs. Please note: the HDMI ports mainly process video transmission and basic PCM/ARC audio; for advanced HD audio formats of Blu-ray, devices often had to be connected via optical/coaxial or set to PCM output.

Component and composite video connections
Universal port (for Onkyo iPod docks or DAB+ tuners)
