Description from the seller
The Luxman K-5 is a high-quality, vintage stereo cassette deck from the Studio Standard Series, produced in Japan by the renowned audio brand Luxman between 1978 and 1982. The deck is known for its sleek design and solid mechanical build quality.
A slightly revised version was also released at the time under the name Luxman K-5A (often equipped with an additional LED peak indicator).
Key Features & Technology
Head system (2 heads): The deck has a Sendust head for recording and playing, and a ferrite erasing head. Sendust combines the magnetic properties of permalloy with the hardness and wear resistance of ferrite.
Tape compatibility: The K-5 was one of the early decks that offered full support for Type IV (Metal) tapes, in addition to Type I (Normal) and Type II (CrO2/Chrome).
Manual settings: The deck is equipped with a Bias Fine Adjustment, which allows the recording characteristic to be precisely matched to the specific brand and type of cassette tape.
Noise cancellation: Equipped with Dolby B Noise Reduction to effectively reduce band noise.
Visual meters: Equipped with the signature, classic analog VU meters for monitoring the recording and playback level.
