The Fir Style, used for this piece, is a regionalist variant of Art Nouveau created in 1900 under the influence of decorative arts professor Charles L'Eplattenier (Le Corbusier's teacher) at the École d'arts appliqués of La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.
