Description from the seller
Pseudoprismatic Garnet with Diopside and Clinochlore - Alpe delle Frasse, Val Susa, Piedmont - Collector's Mineral
Product Description:
For sale an extraordinary and typical collectible specimen from one of the most famous and appreciated alpine mineral localities in Italy: Alpe delle Frasse, located in the municipality of Condove in Val di Susa, Piedmont.
The piece features a rich and extensive mineralization arranged on a native rock matrix. The highlight is a dense spread of brilliantly lustrous crystals of Garnet (Andradite/Grossularia) in a pseudoprismatic habit. The garnets display the sought-after pseudoprismatic form, characterized by an intense orange-gold, cinnamon, and reddish-brown color, with perfectly formed faces that create exceptional brilliance and sparkle under direct light.
Completing the paragenesis of this famous rocky fissure are small Diopside crystals and lamellar aggregates of Clinochlore, interspersed among the garnets and on the matrix, which confer high scientific, systematic, and aesthetic value to the specimen. A classic and essential example for lovers of Piedmontese mineralogy and the roographic parageneses of the Western Alps.

• Associated minerals: Diopside, Clinochlore
• Locality: Alpe delle Frasse, Condove, Val di Susa, Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, Italy
• Origin: 100% Natural (alpine fissure specimen, no treatment)
