Description from the seller
Antique Console Table in Luigi Filippo Style with Marble Top in White Marble and Finely Carved Legs
Important antique console in Luigi Filippo style, traceable to the mid-19th century, characterized by an elegant wooden structure in warm brown tones, richly worked with refined ornamental carvings and enriched by a splendid shaped white marble top with delicate natural veining.
The top presents a wide rectangular shape with rounded front corners and a contoured rear profile, standing out for its light surface and slight veining that create a refined contrast with the warm tones of the underlying wooden structure.
The front fascia is enriched with elegant relief carved decorations, characterized by volutes, scrolls and sinuous ornamental motifs. The central contoured frieze is particularly refined, enriched by a symmetrical composition of curvilinear elements that give movement and harmony to the entire structure.
The console rests at the front on two substantial curved legs, finely carved with foliate motifs and decorative channels, embellished at the top with carved details depicting equine heads. The legs end in elegant scroll feet, highlighting the sculptural and refined character of the piece.
The rear features two straight supports connected to the lower structure, while at the base there is a wide shaped wooden shelf, characterized by an elegant sinuous profile and a refined finish of the surfaces, also ideal as an additional support surface.
The important proportions, the beauty of the wood grain, the richness of the carvings and the refined contrast with the white marble top make this console a piece with great charm and dramatic presence. An elegant and representative furnishing item, perfect for prestigious entrances, classic salons, historic homes, or refined interiors furnished with antique furniture.
