Description from the seller
Leitz Leica M4 in satin chrome.
This classic and iconic M4 in chrome finish has served its owner well with magnificent photographs. Now it’s time for a new owner who can enjoy the camera for many more years.
Serial number is 1192889 from 1968-1969. Leica M4 made in Germany by E. Leitz Wetzlar and is the last model fully handmade Leica M. The body shows light signs of normal use. No dents, deep scratches, cracks, or excessive wear. The top has a light trace from securing the light meter. Vulcanite is missing a small piece near the back adjacent to the ASA scale. Chrome on the lug wears shows use. Light seals on the back have been replaced.
All shutter speeds are accurate by ear. Also the slow speeds and B. The shutter is whisper-quiet. The rangefinder is correct. Projection of focal distances in the viewfinder is correct. Transport is smooth. Exposure counter is correct. All glass surfaces are pristine. Self-timer works correctly. Flash contacts have not been tested. The Elmar 2.8/50mm lens shown in the photos is not included in the sale.
Attention points:
Lens flange is missing 1 screw. Suggestion: due to age, CLA check.
N.B. I am a private individual and cannot offer any warranty. I have given the description to the best of my ability, but I am not an expert. Given the age, the camera is sold “as is.”
