Description from the seller
Stunning antique double Christofle decanter stand, Gallia collection, in silver-plated metal, with its two cut-glass decanters.
The mount, of fine workmanship, features an elegant symmetrical frame resting on four feet, with two rings to hold the decanters. It is topped by a substantial annular handle and adorned with numerous turned and decorative elements.
Note: one of the vertical uprights of the mount is missing. This absence is clearly visible in the photographs. The piece remains stable and retains its attractive decorative and collectible appeal.
The two decanters are made of clear cut glass, with a faceted body, a slender neck, and handsome faceted stoppers.
The mount bears several hallmarks and Christofle/Gallia marks, as well as an engraved number. The Gallia collection is a historic production of the House of Christofle, dating from around 1900 and particularly valued for its decorative objects and silver-plated metalwork. The rooster is notably the characteristic emblem of Gallia.
The whole presents a beautiful antique patina, with signs of use and a few age-related marks that contribute to its authentic character. The decanters are decorative and show slight traces of age.
An elegant and original piece, particularly interesting for a Christofle Gallia collector, but also very decorative in a table presentation or in a vintage/old interior.
