Inkwell - Brass

Late 19th-century figural inkwell modelled as a knight in armour, measuring approximately 13.5 cm at its highest point. A heavy bronze / cast-metal piece featuring an expressive moustached face beneath a barred helmet, a feathered crest and ornate scrolling decoration to the armour. The surface retains an attractive aged patina with wear to the gold-coloured finish. Please note that the rear helmet hinge is broken: the helmet lifts off completely rather than tilting backwards, but sits well in position for display. A removable metal inner cup is included. An appealing decorative desk accessory, offered in its existing condition with the faults clearly illustrated in the photographs.
