A beautiful and characteristic Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi doll, masterfully handmade by the highly regarded kokeshi artist Tomio Ishida. This charming design shows a girl with a traditional hairstyle, wrapped in an elegant kimono subtly decorated with hand-painted floral motifs.
What makes this particular piece extra special and sought-after is the miniature traditional red umbrella (wagasa) that she holds, as well as the presence of the original cardboard box with authentic Japanese calligraphy and stamps.
