Description from the seller
Bronze plaque (peace) with a bas-relief scene in a Renaissance taste, in a tramp art frame with red felt
Rectangular bronze relief plaque, with a crowded scene of figures in front of an architecture with columns and a dome. On the left one can see a group of characters with a figure being raised; at the bottom right a group of figures with raised arms turns upwards. At the top left a drapery is depicted. The surface has a warm copper-colored patina with darker areas in the reliefs.
The plaque is mounted on a red felt background with four small brass hooks and enclosed in a dark wood carved frame in the “diamond point” and sawtooth style, the so-called tramp art, with an iron ring for hanging. On the back a wooden panel is fixed with small brass screws.
The tramp art frame is instead a later creation (19th-20th century).
