Description from the seller
An exceptionally beautiful and characterful specimen of Otodus megalodon from South Carolina, USA. This tooth has a stunning natural olive-green to gold-brown color in the enamel, with clear vertical lines running across the crown. Especially the combination of the light crown with the dark central portion gives this tooth a very striking appearance.
The serrations are present around the crown and nicely fine in texture. Also the tip is well formed and the overall shape of the crown is nicely symmetrical.
A real eye-catcher is the section between the crown and the root. Here there is a dark, almost black color accent visible with clear natural vertical structure. The tooth also has a very large and robust dark grey root, with a beautiful natural, rough texture. The root gives the specimen a powerful and sturdy appearance.
What makes this tooth extra interesting is that it is completely natural and unrestored. No artificial restorations or additions have been made.
A beautiful and very characterful South Carolina Megalodon specimen that sits excellently in a serious fossil collection.
