Description from the seller
A highly attractive miniature specimen featuring striated elbaite tourmaline crystals embedded in a sparkling lepidolite-rich matrix from the classic Erongo Region of Namibia.
The main tourmaline crystal is prominently exposed on one side of the specimen and displays strong vertical striations, excellent natural luster, and a dark green interior with subtle pink-to-green watermelon zoning near the outer crystal surfaces.
Several additional elbaite crystals are compacted throughout the matrix, creating an intricate crystal assemblage rather than a single isolated crystal. Pink to lavender lepidolite mica surrounds the tourmaline and produces a beautiful reflective contrast, with minor natural iron staining adding warm earthy tones to portions of the specimen.
At just under 4 cm across, this is a compact but visually complex miniature with plenty of detail from multiple viewing angles.
Minerals: Elbaite Tourmaline & Lepidolite
Locality: Karibib District, Erongo Region, Namibia
Dimensions: Approx. 3 × 3.8 × 3.5 cm
Weight: 66.33 g
Size Class: Small Miniature
Form: Crystal group / cluster
