Description from the seller

Ammonite fossils in natural matrix, a fossil block containing two perfectly preserved ammonites of the genus Cleoniceras, remaining in their original position inside the natural matrix just as found. This extraordinary specimen comes from Madagascar and dates to the Albian (Early Cretaceous, about 110 million years ago), a geological era dominated by tropical seas, in which the landmasses were fragmented and largely submerged by inland seas.
The two shells, polished, reveal a spectacular network of complex sutures and hues ranging from copper to honey, alternating with grey-green inserts of the original matrix. Their symmetrical arrangement and the integrity of the whorls make them an authentic scenographic fossil, capable of transporting the observer to a primordial era dominated by oceans and extraordinarily beautiful extinct creatures.
All of it is mounted on an elegant black metal stand, transforming this natural specimen into a paleontological relic of great decorative impact, ideal for studies, collections, or environments inspired by the charm of ancient nature
500*300*120mm

Seller's Story

The Mineral Art Gallery offers minerals, fossils, shells and natural elements. Born in Italy in 2017, today she collaborates with international galleries and collectors, she is a direct importer of large minerals and naturalistic collectible elements; deals with the processing to insert them inside the living space. A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past". All lots are shipped via DHL Express and Fercam couriers, with insured parcel and tracking.
