Description from the seller
GERMANY. Prussia. Berlin. 2 Mark. 1901. Wilhelm II (1888–1918)
- Value: 2 Mark.
- Year: 1901.
- Inscriptions: FRIEDRICH I. 1701 with the superimposed busts of Frederick I and Wilhelm II and a commemorative legend of the bicentennial; on the reverse, DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 with the imperial eagle and the value 2 MARK.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Prussian commemorative coin issued to celebrate the bicentennial of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Prussia (1701–1901). The obverse shows a powerful double portrait, with Frederick I — the first king of Prussia — and Emperor Wilhelm II, symbolizing dynastic continuity and the power of the Prussian State within the German Empire. The reverse presents the German imperial eagle with crown and central shield, finely detailed and with a strong heraldic presence. The specimen retains original mint luster with attractive uniform patina and well-defined reliefs, in keeping with the MS63 grade, a very representative and sought-after piece among early 20th-century German imperial commemoratives.
