Vintage Turkish Oushak Kilim – 334 x 140 cm – Pink Geometric Medallions – Handwoven
Description
A striking vintage Turkish Oushak kilim from Anatolia, traditionally handwoven and featuring a distinctive composition of colorful geometric medallions.
Measuring 334 x 140 cm (approximately 11.0 x 4.6 ft), this long-format kilim is characterized by its beautiful soft pink field, dramatically framed by a dark brown to almost black stepped border.
Large geometric diamond-shaped medallions are arranged across the field in pink, blue, orange, cream, grey and dark brown, accompanied by smaller traditional geometric motifs. The strong contrast between the soft pink background and the darker border gives the piece an unusually graphic and contemporary appearance.
The naturally irregular coloration of the pink field, slight variations in the individual motifs and asymmetry of the weaving are characteristic of an authentic handmade vintage textile and give the kilim considerable personality.
The upper and lower borders contain additional multicolored geometric elements, creating an attractive visual frame around the main composition.
